Detroit Sucks.

No one might notice it, but after Detroit falls to Columbus tonight, they will have lost five, count ‘em, five, games in a row.

Now either Detroit is just playing poorly lately or they’re saving their energy for the playoffs.

And if you look at some of the teams the Red Wings have lost to in the process, it gets uglier. They’ve dropped games to some pretty bad clubs in the Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs while losing to divisional opponents who trail them in the Nashville Predators and Columbus Blue Jackets. They’ve also lost to the surging Anaheim Ducks in addition to their other four defeats.

So if you’ve got Chris Osgood or Dominik Hasek in your pools, you’re probably pulling your hair out as we speak.

Here’s hoping for a 0-20-2 slide which would force Detroit to miss the playoffs for the first time in almost two decades!
