Insane Penalty Shot
March 31st, 2009 Posted in UncategorizedI’ve seen a handful of shootout dangles and penalty shots that have blown my mind since the introduction of the shootout after the lockout, but this one I’m about to show you just about takes the cake.
For those who don’t know the shooter, this is Linus Omark. You might be saying to yourself ‘Who is this guy?’ and that’d be a pretty understandable question. Don’t confuse this left-winger from Lulea’s Swedish Elite League team with the next Fabian Brunnstrom; despite being a 4th round selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2007 draft, he’s got a lot of work to do before coming to North America.
However, there’s no mistaking the silky smooth hands this 21-year-old has. Just check out his shootout move from last night’s game between Sweden and Switzerland:
Talk about your pretty chip shots. But how does this move stack up against another personal favourite of mine featuring Pavel Datsyuk?
You be the judge: What’s the sickest of the sick?

Well it looks like Edmonton also saw this penalty shot, because they’re looking at signing Omark!
